THE HIDDEN GEM BESIDE VIGAN

With its historic landmarks, scenic views, and warm-hearted locals, Bantay is a destination that captures the soul of Northern Philippines.

Your visit isn't complete without seeing the Bantay Church and its iconic Bantay Bell Tower.
Built in the 16th century, this church is one of the oldest in the Ilocos region. Its red-brick facade and timeless architecture reflect the Spanish colonial influence that shaped much of Ilocano culture.

The Bantay Bell Tower is known as "Bantay Watchtower". This historic structure served as a lockout point during World War II. Climb up the Bell Tower, perched on a hill overlooking the town, and you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Vigan, the mountains, and the countryside.

If you are looking for a place where fresh air, breathtaking views, and quiet serenity come together, Caniaw is the perfect destination for you. Caniaw is ideal for travelers who love nature walks, photography, and quiet reflection. It's a place where you can hike small trails, breathe in the crisp provincial air, and simply enjoy the calm of the countryside.
Adventure-seeking visitors can explore the nearby hills or picnic with friends and family while surrounded by stunning scenery. It's also a great spot for cyclists and runners, thanks to its wide, peaceful roads and scenic routes.

While technically connecting Bantay and Santa, this iconic steel bridge is a popular spot for tourists visiting Bantay. Spanning the Abra River, it offers stunning views of the water and the surrounding mountains. Many visitors stop here for photos, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Bantay, Ilocos Sur, may be small, but it's rich in history, beauty, and heart. It's a place where time slows down, where every stone and tower tells a story, and where visitors are welcomed with genuine Ilocano warmth.

Come and discover Bantay - where history stands tall, and the view will leave you breathless.

REFLECTION

As the second quarter of the school year comes to a close, I’ve taken some time to reflect on my progress, challenges, and growth. This quarter felt both challenging and rewarding. I was more comfortable with the school routine and began to understand the expectations of each subject more clearly.

The 2nd quarter was not easy; I faced many challenges to my studies. But it's not a quarter without struggles. But I passed all those struggles. This quarter was more challenging than the first because the lessons became deeper and required more critical thinking. However, these challenges helped me improve my study habits and learn how to manage my time better.

At first, I struggled to keep up, but through consistent reviewing, understanding all the lessons, and asking questions to our teachers, I was able to keep up and passed the 2nd quarter.

There were still times when I struggled—especially when I felt overwhelmed by deadlines—but I learned to stay patient and seek help when needed. My teachers and friends were a big part of my progress this quarter, as their support motivated me to keep improving.

Emotionally, there were moments when I felt tired or overwhelmed, but I learned that it’s okay to take a break and ask for help when needed. The support of my teachers, classmates, and family motivated me to keep going and do my best. Overall, the second quarter was a time of growth, learning, and self-discovery. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and more determined to continue improving in the next quarter

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration, anchored on the profoundly resonant theme "My Teacher, My Hero," serves as a crucial annual reminder of the indispensable role educators play in shaping not just minds, but entire futures. This theme elevates teachers beyond their professional duties, recognizing them as figures of extraordinary courage, unwavering dedication, and selfless service. It acknowledges the countless sacrifices they make, the challenges they overcome, and the profound impact they have on every student's journey, often acting as second parents, mentors, and unwavering pillars of support.

In Ilocos sur national high school, we started the celebration by joining the parade that happened here at ISNHS. Then we proceed in the GYM to attend  the mass organized by the SSLG, Math ,AP, Interact clubs.

Then after the mass we go back our classroom to give our present to our teacher's, we give them a cake and a bouquet. Then we go to the AP faculty with our fellow club members to give our present to our beloved adviser and AP teacher's, we gave them a pins.

On October 8, We celebrate our teacher's day in our classroom with our adviser Mrs. Rabo. our classmate performed and they also dance with our adviser.
